Floral cake ideas are everywhere, with cakes often being adorned with sugar flower and iced blooms. One trend, which seems set to be hot this year, however, is the unique ‘painted cake’. Why not turn your cake into an artful statement? Natasha Collins, of Nevie-Pie Cakes, specializes in painting floral decorations onto wedding cakes and they are simply divine. Carrying the peonies and sweet peas in your bouquet through to the cake decoration sounds like a lovely idea to me. Check out some of her designs below for a modern wedding cake that looks as delicious as it tastes!
When planning a wedding, there are so many areas that need to be covered, but one of the most fun and lovely (apart from choosing your flowers, obviously) has to be choosing the cake. Getting to go to cake tasting sessions and deciding between the traditional fruit cake option or a more mod, but eternally delicious sponge, or choc cake, or lemon drizzle, or red velvet has to be one of the perks of all the planning! And that is just the cake...then it comes to the icing, which can be a whole new minefield of colour choices, iced decorations, piped patterns and so on. The decisions just keep needing to be made!
