Working with renowned British jewellery brand, Links of London, showcasing at Chelsea in Bloom for the first time this year was a real honour and a BIG milestone for All For Love!
As the world class alternative floral art show, Chelsea in Bloom, transforms the streets of Chelsea from 23rd to 28th May. The breath-taking floral displays form part of an annual competition where the best retailers adorning their shop fronts with creative designs compete for the coveted awards.
This year’s theme was ‘Carnival’ inspired by the Rio de Janeiro Carnival, how fun!
After working through the night on Sunday, ready for Monday’s show opening, it was wonderful to see people’s reaction to the window, so many lovely comments and posts.
Our aim whilst designing the window display was to marry the competition's Carnival theme with the Links of London brand. Obviously London has its very own annual Carnival in Notting Hill and so taking inspiration from both this and the one in Rio, we came up with our concept - 'Carnival with a British/London twist!'. The famous British bulldog is centre stage in the design - he represents the British heritage of Links of London.
Our two bulldogs featured in each window are dressed in a riot of colour, adorned with giant, colourful, oversized headdresses featuring mainly bright British flowers. Showing support for the brands heritage, two large Union Jack flags in carnival colours dress the exterior of the shop, with oversized, super colourful urns on display inside the store too. We wanted to capture the British humour and sense of fun in the design, whilst also creating something eye catching, different and colourful.
The People’s Champion Award was voted for by members of the public via the Chelsea in Bloom website and we’re so happy that so many of you clearly loved our window as much as we did, thank you again!
